Alexis turned 8 months old on Tuesday! Turning 8 months old was a big deal for this little girl: she finally started using her ability to roll to actually take herself someplace. She can roll across a room so quickly! She’s also started saying “mama” and “dada” a lot! She’s not crawling yet, but she’s been doing lots of push ups. She also got her third tooth this month.
Some of Alexis’ favorite games lately are:
Peek-a-boo (also known as, “Where’s Alexis?”) We put a cloth over her head and say, “Where’s Alexis?” Sometimes she’ll wait a few moments while we wonder where she is, and I’m positive she’s doing this on purpose to create suspense. Then she yanks it off with a big smile. If this girl could say “ta da!” she would be doing it every time she reveals herself.
She also loves playing with the dimmer switch on the light in her room, and is so proud of herself every time she turns the light on or off.
Alexis has always loved bath time, and now it’s gotten even more fun. Every night she travels from her nursery to her bath swinging through the air like Tarzan. She laughs and starts kicking her legs like a maniac. Best thing ever.
Finally, the camera tells me she might be a secret redhead. Her hair looks more light brown in person, although it can appear red or even blonde in the right light. But I keep getting photos where she looks like a total redhead. I don’t know what’s going on, but I sure wouldn’t mind if my little girl had a bit of red in her hair.
